Polytetrafluoroethylene has a melting point of 327 degrees Celsius, excellent chemical stability and self-lubricating properties.  It is widely used in fluoroplastics and has excellent comprehensive properties such as high and low temperature resistance, corrosion resistance and aging resistance.  Non-adhesive, high insulation, high lubrication, non-toxic.  However, polytetrafluoroethylene has poor creep resistance, poor wear resistance, and a large expansion coefficient of the product, so it is usually necessary to improve these disadvantages by filling modification.  Commonly used fillers are copper powder, carbon fiber, glass fiber, graphite, molybdenum disulfide, polyphenyl ester, polyether ether ketone, etc., according to different working conditions and uses can be filled with one or more substances.

Polytetrafluoroethylene has cold flow properties.  That is, the plastic deformation of the material product under the action of long-term continuous load, which imposes certain restrictions on its application.  For example, when PTFE is used as a gasket, the bolt is tightly tightened so that the gasket is cold-flowed and crushed when a specific compressive stress is exceeded.  These shortcomings can be overcome by adding appropriate fillers and improving the structure of the part.  PTFE has outstanding non-stick properties that limit its industrial application.  It is an excellent release material that makes it extremely difficult to bond to the surface of other objects.

The PTFE-modified PTFE seal has a great improvement in pressure resistance, wear resistance, creep resistance and tensile strength, and at the same time improves the hardness of the product.  It is suitable for rotary sealing.  For the production of spring energy storage pan plug seal, car gearbox oil ring and so on.  Carbon fiber may be oxidatively decomposed in a strong acid environment and is therefore not recommended for use in strong acid applications.

After filling the glass fiber modified PTFE hydraulic seal, it has great improvement in pressure resistance, wear resistance, creep resistance and tensile strength, and at the same time improves the hardness of the product, suitable for rotary sealing.  Usually used to make gaskets, spring energy storage pan plugs, automotive gearbox oil rings, etc.  Glass fiber may decompose under alkaline conditions and is therefore not recommended for use in alkali or water containing conditions.
